Where is God? Everywhere!

Where is God Everywhere
Where is God? Have you ever asked that question? Most of us have at one time or another, in the midst of deep despair and doubt; many will question the existence of our loving God.

Yet each day God shows himself as the sun rises again, Birds wheel in the sky as clouds form. Storms come, but when they go, a rainbow appears, as drops of water gather into puddles and melt away to water the earth.

Night falls, covering the sky with a carpet of stars that appear in unchanging constellations and a moon that waxes and wanes as days, weeks, and years pass.

Psalm 19 (KJV) says-

1The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

2 Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.

3 There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.

4 Their line is gone out through all the earth and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,

5 Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.

6 His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.

7 The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.

8 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.

9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.

10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

12 Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.

13 Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.

14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.

God reveals Himself in the glory of creation, in the symmetry of time, in the passing of days, and the change of seasons. His Word refreshes and renews us as we seek to grow in knowledge and wisdom.

Are you mindful of the glory of creation as you go through your day? Do you have friends or family who question the existence of God? And are you willing to share some of this Psalm’s cry of the glory of creation as a witness to God’s power? Verse 12 asks the question: “Who can understand his errors?”.

Are you willing to look deep inside yourself to confess your “hidden faults” to our faithful forgiving God?

In the busy-ness of your life, take time each day to be mindful of the sunrise and sunset, the clouds, the stars at night, the entire beauty of creation. Listen as the heavens declare God’s glory.

Verses 3-4 declare that God is revealed to every person over the entire earth through the glory of creation. As God reveals himself throughout the world, Jesus calls us to “go and make disciples of all nations.” (Matthew 28:18-20). God is paving the way. Share the Good News with those who doubt.

This Psalm tells us that God’s Word Is “perfect”, “giving joy to the heart”, “more precious than gold” and “sweeter than honey.” Seek out those verses in the Bible which are most precious to you and meditate on them.

Remember that you are Christ’s witness in the world. Make sure that your words and thoughts are pleasing to God.
