There is no higher calling known to the human race, no greater privilege, than the honor of being called a child of God. And children of God are loved by Him. In response to that love, we are called and enabled to purify ourselves, just as He is pure.
If you have received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, the Bible says you are a child of God. Do you feel like you are a child of God? Why or why not?
Why, in your own words, is there “no greater privilege in all the world” than the love of God?
Recall a time when you felt rejected. Do you think this rejection your fault, or was it because you are a follower of Jesus?
As we respond to God’s love and to the hope we have in Him, we want to become pure, as He is pure. Do you want to be pure and holy? What is your motive for being pure?
In the next few moments, ask God to begin to purify you as He is pure.
Strive today to become a vessel that is pure and ready to be used by Him for noble purposes.
Think about what you can do now to anticipate the day when you will become perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
If holiness in response to God’s love does not appeal to you, ask yourself why that is the case. Ask God to reveal areas of your heart that need His touch. [no greater privilege]
