Kano State Gov To Establish Ultra Modern Women Centres

Kano State

The Kano State Government has concluded the arrangements to build two ultra modern women centres in the state next year.

The state Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs Zubaida Abubakar, made the disclosure during a meeting with local government development officers in Kano.

She said that the centres would be located at Kofar-Naisa and Gyadi-Gyadi in Gwale and Tarauni Local government areas of Kano State, respectively.

According to her, the state government has already earmarked certain amount of money in the 2016 budget for the execution of the project. She explained that when constructed, the centres would enhance the socio-economic status of women and generate more revenue for Kano State.

The commissioner said that the state government also planned to equip the existing women centres in the 44 local government areas with modern facilities. “This is aimed at achieving government’s desire toward empowering women at the grassroots.

She then urged the officers to continue to discharge their duties accordingly in order to move the state forward.
