Buhari Plan to unveil Banks Keeping Nigeria Stolen Oil Money
The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari made the disclosure, while receiving a delegation of United States Congressmen at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
President Muhammadu Buhari mentioned that his administration is currently identifying banks, financial institutions and countries where Nigeria stolen oil funds are being kept.
Buhari made the disclosure on Monday, August 3, 2015.
The Nigeria president comments were contained in a statement released by his media aide, Femi Adesina.
“Some monies were paid to individual accounts. We are identifying the financial institutions and countries that are involved. I have been assured that when we get all our documents together, the United States and other countries will treat our case with sympathy.”
Buhari had earlier revealed, via an opinion piece written in the Washington Post, that he would enlist the US’ help in recovering Nigeria’s stolen funds.
